Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Melinda Chan has been providing dental care to the western suburbs of Chicago for over 10 years. She grew up in New Jersey, but she fell in love with Chicago while studying at Northwestern University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Biology and Psychology. She completed her dental training in 2011 at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She stays up to date with developments in dentistry through memberships in study clubs such as Spear Institute and by participating in other continuing education courses.
Dr. Chan values developing trusting relationships with her patients. She customizes courses of treatment for each individual; every plan factors in overall health, function, esthetics, time, and finances. Dr. Chan takes the time to educate her patients and to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Dr. Chan lives in Naperville with her husband and two young daughters. She enjoys reading, exploring cities, and is a fan of classical music.
Dr. Kawar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. She earned her dental degree from the University of Jordan and her Master’s Degree and Certificate in Periodontics from St. Louis University. Currently, she serves as a Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and has received multiple honors, including the American Academy of Periodontology “Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award” and the Jon Daniel Teaching Award.
Dr. Kawar believes in the strong link between oral and systemic health. Her approach focuses on restoring function, esthetics, and overall wellness through comprehensive periodontal and implant therapy. She provides a full scope of treatments, from non-surgical and surgical therapies to grafting procedures and dental implants, with the goal of helping patients achieve lasting oral health.
